It's a tarot blogging party! So you might have come over here from one of the other bloggers! The next bloggers link is at the bottom of the page! Welcome to Dreadlock Tarot!!!

So as you know my name is Ashley and I thought I would share my tarot story with you. It's long so I'll give you the short version:

I have always had a love of metaphysics, religion and spirituality. I knew from a very small age that there was magic in the world, and I was determined to know about all of it. When I was 20 I broke up with my first love. I was kind of a mess (which my friends would tell you is a complete understatement) and one day decided to go to my favorite place, the book store. I saw a book that said "Easy Tarot" and decided it would be cool to learn something new and I could use it to see if my boyfriend was coming back (plus my birthday was coming up so I thought I might buy myself a little present). Once I started reading the book I was addicted. I went over every card and wrote down the meanings in one day. After that I would take my cards everywhere. I read for anyone who would let me. Tarot became like a trusty friend and it even helped me to meet a new guy! Then I had a crisis of faith around the age of 25. I went on vacation with my family and a very religious family member told me that what I was doing was "wrong" and I should give it up. After that, it caused me a lot of problems with my family, so I stopped. I remember getting rid of my decks, even my books about spirituality and my crystals. After about 6 months, I could take it anymore. That magic I mentioned earlier? I realized I couldn't live without it. So that's when I decided to get back on my tarot bandwagon and never looked back.

How I think Tarot Works:

On a spiritual level, I look at tarot as a tool to help one connect to the Divine. I believe that the tarot tells a story of the situation with cards. When someone concentrates on their question, it is my thought that the Universe conspires to put the cards in the right order to tell your story. I, as the tarot reader, really consider myself as the vessel to present my clients with information that they might not be able to see or recognize on their own.

Question for you to ask you cards:

I know it is early, but only using the Majors, ask what should be your focus should be for 2016?

On to the next Tarot Blogger, Melissa Terrio!
